What is Ziac used for? Bisoprolol Fumarate Hydrochlorothiazide is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Ziac blood pressure Lowers high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Ziac withdrawal symptoms and side effects can be based on your medical condition.

This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as beta-blockers. It works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in your body such as epinephrine on the heart and blood vessels. This effect lowers the heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.

How to use

  • Take Bisoprolol Fumarate Hydrochlorothiazide by mouth with or without food, usually once a day or as directed by your doctor.
  • Dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment.
  • Use Ziac blood pressure regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
  • For the treatment of high blood pressure, it may take several weeks before you get the full benefit of this drug.

  • very slow heartbeat
  • severe dizziness
  • fainting

  • trouble breathing

Although Ziac blood pressure may be used to treat heart failure, some people may rarely develop new or worsening symptoms of heart failure. Tell your doctor right away if you experience any of these unlikely but serious side effects and Ziac withdrawal symptoms: shortness of breath, swelling ankles/feet, unusual tiredness, unusual/sudden weight gain.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention.

Warnings & Precautions

  1. Before taking Bisoprolol Fumarate Hydrochlorothiazide, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it.
  2. Before using Ziac blood pressure, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history.
  3. Check your blood sugar regularly as directed and share the results with your doctor.
  4. Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking this medication.
  5. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely.
  6. Limit alcoholic beverages.

During pregnancy, Ziac blood pressure should be used only when clearly needed. It may harm an unborn baby. Discuss the risks and Ziac withdrawal symptoms with your doctor.

It is unknown if Bisoprolol Fumarate Hydrochlorothiazide passes into breast milk or if it may harm a nursing infant. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor before breastfeeding.


Store at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.

Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. Properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more details about how to safely discard your product.

Drug interactions
